We turn up with the right kit, the right drawings and enough hours in the day. What we can’t control is what we find when we get there. This page sets out what we need from you so the work happens safely, on the day we said, and for the price we quoted. It applies alongside your quotation and the terms of business supplied with it, not instead of them.

Unless we have agreed access arrangements in advance, please have someone over 18 at the property to let us in and to stay contactable while we are there. If a building has a concierge, a barrier, a permit scheme or a booking-in process, tell us before the day and give us whatever we need to get through it.
Tell us where to park. If parking is paid, restricted or permit-only, that cost is yours and we will add it to the invoice at cost. If a vehicle cannot get reasonably close to where the equipment is going, let us know first — carrying racks and cable drums a long way changes the time a job takes.
Please clear furniture, belongings and anything breakable from the area we are working in before we arrive. If that is difficult, say so when you book and we will price moving it. We would rather quote for it than find it on the morning.
We need a working power socket, and somewhere to set down tools and equipment. Where we are working at height or in a loft, we need safe, unobstructed access to it. If the area is occupied by other trades on the day, tell us in advance so we can sequence around them.
Asbestos. If there is, or may be, asbestos-containing material anywhere we will be drilling, cutting or lifting, you must tell us before we start and provide any survey or register you hold. In non-domestic premises there is a legal duty to manage asbestos and to make that information available to anyone likely to disturb it. If we find something we suspect is asbestos, we stop work in that area immediately and it stays stopped until it has been assessed by someone qualified.
The structure. Anything you know to be unsafe, unstable, or not what it appears — a ceiling that will not take a fixing, a floor that has been altered, a wall that is not what the plans say.
The existing wiring. Any fault, alteration or previous work you already know about, including work carried out by someone who was not qualified. We will find it eventually; finding it on day one is cheaper for you.
Other trades. Who else is working on the same area and when. Most of the damage on a live site happens where two trades meet and neither was told.
We work to a written risk assessment and method statement, and we will share it on request. If we find something on site that changes it, we will stop, tell you, and agree how to proceed before carrying on. We would rather lose an afternoon than improvise around a hazard.
Please keep children and pets out of the working area while we are on site. Where we have isolated a circuit or removed a guard, that area is not safe to walk into, whatever it looks like.
We leave the area safe at the end of each working day, and we clear our own waste when the job is finished. Waste that was already there when we arrived is not ours to remove unless we have quoted for it.
That applies in person, on the phone, by email and by message, and it applies both ways — you can expect exactly the same from us. It also extends to anyone you are responsible for on site: your staff, your family, your other contractors, and anyone else you have let in.
If our engineers are subjected to abuse, threats, intimidation or harassment of any kind, we will stop work, leave the site and speak to you about it. If it happens again we will end the contract in writing. Work completed up to that point remains payable. This is not a clause we expect ever to use, and it is here so that nobody has to decide in the moment whether to put up with something.
If we arrive at the agreed time and cannot get in, cannot reach the working area, or cannot safely begin for a reason within your control, we will call you and wait a reasonable time. If we still cannot start, we treat it as a wasted visit and charge for the time and travel at the rates in your quotation or support agreement.
None of that applies if you tell us in advance. Move the date, tell us the room is not ready, tell us the electrician has overrun — there is no charge for rearranging, and we would much rather have the phone call.
These conditions apply to any work we carry out at premises you own, occupy or control, including work carried out by anyone we subcontract. They are incorporated into your quotation and into our terms of business, and by allowing us on site to begin work you accept them. Where a written contract you have signed with us says something different about the same subject, that signed contract takes precedence.
If your own site has additional rules — a construction site induction, a building’s contractor conditions, a yard or marina’s access policy — tell us before the day. We are happy to work to them, but we need to see them in advance rather than at the gate.
Nothing on this page limits our own duties. We remain responsible for the safety of our work and our people, for holding the qualifications and insurance we say we hold, and for complying with the law — and nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
We may update this page. Any change takes effect when it is published here, and applies to work booked after that date. If you would like the version that applied to your job, ask us and we will send it.
